Center Valley, Pa. - Following a thorough review of the game situation, Patriot League Executive Director Carolyn Schlie Femovich announced Monday that Bucknell University men's basketball coach Pat Flannery has been reprimanded and will be suspended for one game.
The one-game suspension was issued to Flannery for a violation of the League's Code of conduct in the game versus Holy Cross on Friday, Jan. 18. The suspension will be in place for Bucknell's game on Wednesday, Jan. 23 versus Lafayette College.
"After comprehensive evaluation with League administrators and game officials, as well as administrators from Bucknell University, I have determined that Coach Flannery violated the League's Code of Conduct," said Femovich. "This suspension is a direct result of unacceptable behavior as a coach during a basketball game. The Patriot League requires the highest standards of sporting behavior of coaches, student-athletes and others associated with an athletic competition."
The League office considers this matter closed, and will have no further comment.
